[style=font-family: Verdana; font-size: 9px; text-align: justify; color: #ffffff; border: 2px solid #ffffff; padding: 10px]Legend tells us of creatures that were once human, but lost all claim to that humanity when a curse changed them, made them into something...supernatural. The changes were many. Some received animal characteristics. Others have the ability to change their shape. There are many more, most of them unrecorded, but they are all feared. Yokai, however, are more than just characters in local stories. They are real, and they live among us. Despite our fears, not all of them are evil and repulsive. Some wish to live normal lives, disguising their true forms. Despite this, there are humans that know that these creatures exist, and put forth great efforts to hunt them down and eradicate them. This sect, these "Reapers" as they call themselves, are a source of disturbance in both worlds, normal and supernatural. The tension has been brought to a head in Kyoto, where a large number of these supernatural beings live. Because of their presence, the Reapers have been moving more and more members into the city, disguising their true identities. The normal citizens have no idea of this. To them, all they see is an increased number of terrorist attacks and homicides on the news. Under the surface, these are the remaining traces of a war which is raging in the city's underbelly, threatening to rise to the surface. The Reapers know this, but they consider themselves above the law, fighting for a cause so much more noble than themselves. Somehow, the police force fails to recognize this, and has been fighting against the Reapers in several small skirmishes across the city. On the other side, the Yokai wish to remain undetected, and struggle to do so despite the Reapers' aggressive tactics. Will you be there at the end? Will you watch this world fall? Or will you simply watch as it begins Fading Into Black...? [/style] |
